TRACING OF MS ABIGAIL VAN ZYL AND BABY VAN ZYL

Telephonic conversation between yourself and Rassie Erasmus on Wednesday, 18"May 2005, refers.

2. On the 15'" April 2005 Ms. Lizandr6 Peach of Bloemfontein informed Advance Investigating Consultants that her 19 year old daughter, Ms Abigail van Zyl, and her four month old baby daughter, eloped with Mr. Ian Hunter. Mr. Hunter is wanted by various police stations in the Free State and Kwazulu Natal on several accounts of fraud and theft. The total amount involved has not yet been established, but can amount to several thousands of Rand

3. Ms. Peach requested the assistance of Advance Investigating Consultants in tracing her daughter and baby granddaughter. She, however, indicated that she had no funds available for reimbursement. After careful consideration concerning the dilemma in which Ms. Peach found herself, Rassie Erasmus, head of Advance Investigating Consultants, decided to assist the client on a pro bono basis.

4 The investigating officer in the matters against Hunter in Bloemfontein, Captain Andr6 Roberts, requested Rassie Erasmus to assist him in locating the whereabouts of Ian Hunter. Abigail van Zyl is emotionally and sexually attracted to Ian Hunter, who disposes of excellent powers of persuasion and has convinced Abigail that he is in a position to offer her and the baby a convenient and financially secure future.

5 1 had no clue, whatsoever, of the whereabouts of the trio and requested assistance from Mr. Danie Kriegel on the 04'" May 2005. We obtained hair samples of both the mother and child from clothes and blankets used by them in my client's dwelling. Hair samples were also obtained from a shirt belonging to Mr. Ian Hunter The samples were analyzed by Mr. Knegel and positive identifications were made.

He ascertained that the wanted persons were in the Port Shepstone / Margate area. He further perceived continuous movement of the trio in the Durban / Port Shepstone I Margate area. Information gathered pointed to the possibility that Mr. Hunter obtained a job at a tow truck company.

6. Our client, Ms. Peach, is very much concerned about the physical wellbeing of the baby. Further inquiries and investigation by Rassie Erasmus indicated that the three of them often occupied Park Home type accommodation in the Port Shepstone area.

7. On the 0e May 2005, Rassie Erasmus contacted the Port Shepstone CID and requested their assistance in Mr. Hunter's arrest. He e-mailed photographs of the suspect and Ms van Zyl to Supt. Nel of the Port Shepstone CID. Several warrants had been issued for Mr. Hunter's arrest.

8. Rassie established that members of the Detective Branch called on a tow truck company on the 11'h May 2005. Coincidentally, this was the company where Hunter is employed, but this was denied by the owner of the company. Apparently Hunter noticed the officials and went on the run again.

9. Throughout Rassie's search for the missing people, he was kept informed by Danie Kriegel on a continuous basis, pertaining to the movements of Hunter and van Zyl. Danie even went as far as to visit his laboratory at 22h00 in order to keep Rassie up to date. On another occasion, Danie drove to his laboratory at 04h00 to supply Rassie with information pertaining to the whereabouts of Hunter.

10. It would have been virtually impossible to trace Hunter, van Zyl and the baby without Danie's assistance and co-0peration. It is now only a matter of time before Hunter is arrested and Ms van Zyl and the baby reunited with our client.
